This story follows Nourish Street, a Brisbane-based grassroots charity providing practical support to people experiencing homelessness. From hot meals to essential supplies, their work centres on meeting immediate needs while treating people with dignity and care. A $1,000 Cars for Good donation will help Nourish Street continue delivering essential services across Brisbane’s northern communities.

This Cars for Good story explores the work of The Shaka Project, a mental health charity focused on encouraging conversations before people reach crisis. Through a simple approach built on checking in, asking again and creating space for honesty, the organisation helps make discussions about mental health easier to start. A $1,000 Cars for Good donation will support the delivery of free workshops across schools, sporting clubs and workplaces in and around Brisbane.

Conwaye spends his days lifting up the next generation - a rugby coach who is more than just a mentor. To his boys, he’s Matua: the one who finds them boots, puts food on the table, and makes sure no one is left behind. His aroha and dedication have already seen Tuakau College reach milestones never achieved before. But behind the scenes, Conwaye and his partner were stretching one car to do it all. That’s why he was handed the keys to a reliable new vehicle.

Taka’s journey began in Northcote, serving hot meals out of the boot of his car. There was no funding, no organisation behind him - just kindness, care, and aroha for his community. At least three nights a week, he cooked and delivered food to anyone in need, making sure no one went without. Over time, his quiet generosity became a lifeline for many. When he was recognised through Cars for Good, Taka gained the support to keep feeding hope, and to continue nourishing his community.

Born from one girl’s act of kindness, Nurturing Families has grown into a lifeline for hundreds of parents and caregivers across Auckland. They provide clothing, food, and baby essentials to families in crisis, along with the care, guidance, and connection that help them rebuild. Through a $1,000 Cars for Good donation, their team can continue giving newborns a safe start and families a chance to breathe again.
