Supporting the Path Forward

Got Your Back Sista – Hunter Region

Got Your Back Sista supports women and children rebuilding their lives after domestic and family violence. At a time when safety, stability and dignity need to be restored, their work provides both immediate support and a pathway forward.

In Australia, 1 in 4 women will experience domestic and family violence in their lifetime, and demand for support services continues to grow each year. Within the Hunter Region, organisations like Got Your Back Sista play a critical role in responding to that need.

Since 2016, they have delivered essential items such as food, clothing and hygiene packs, alongside support in securing safe housing. Beyond these immediate needs, their programs focus on helping individuals rebuild confidence, reconnect with community and regain independence.

Their work takes place during periods of significant transition, when support is not just helpful, but critical.

This month, through Cars for Good, the easyauto123 Newcastle team donated $1,000 to support Got Your Back Sista’s work across the region.

Supporting Stability and Rebuilding

The organisation’s impact is shaped by its ability to respond in moments that matter most. When individuals are leaving unsafe environments, practical support provides the foundation for what comes next.

That support begins with essentials, but it extends further.

Through one-on-one casework, mentoring and community programs, Got Your Back Sista helps women move beyond immediate crisis and begin rebuilding their lives with greater confidence and direction.

During the visit, the Newcastle team met with Suzie and the broader team at GYBS HQ, gaining a deeper understanding of the work being done every day.

As Suzie shared:

“At Got Your Back Sista, we stand beside women and children rebuilding their lives after domestic and family violence, providing practical support, safety and hope when it’s needed most."

The moment was also marked with a gesture of appreciation, with the team presenting easyauto123 with a plaque. It was unexpected, and a reflection of the connection formed through the visit.

A Contribution That Creates Stability

Through Cars for Good, the $1,000 donation will provide immediate, practical support to women and children at a critical point in their journey.

This may include access to essential items such as groceries, clothing and hygiene packs, helping furnish a safe home, or supporting one-on-one casework that guides women through

the process of rebuilding their lives.

These contributions have a direct and immediate impact. They help move individuals and families from crisis toward stability, with dignity and support.

For the easyauto123 Newcastle team, this is part of an ongoing commitment to supporting organisations working at the front line of community care.

With further initiatives already planned, including local BBQ events, the focus is on continuing that support in ways that are practical and consistent.

Because when people are rebuilding their lives, the right support can help create a path forward.
