A Team, A Dream, A Community
Hobart United Football Club, alongside the easyauto123 Hobart team, receiving a $1000 Cars for Good grant.
Founded in 2002 with just one team, Hobart United FC has grown into a cornerstone of the local community — a club built on inclusion, friendship, and opportunity. From day one, its purpose has been simple: to give young people a safe and welcoming place to belong.
Today, Hobart United brings together players from all walks of life — especially migrants and members of Tasmania’s African community. Through football, the club creates connection, confidence, and a sense of home that extends far beyond the pitch.
Training three times a week during the season, Hobart United offers far more than sport. It’s where kids learn teamwork, adults find friendship, and families come together to support one another.
Among those driving the club’s spirit is Eddie, one of its founding members and a long-time member of the easyauto123 Hobart team. For more than two decades, Eddie has mentored young players and strengthened community ties — efforts that earned him a Tasmanian Government Community Award for outstanding service to local youth.
As Hobart United continues to grow, so do its ambitions. The club’s next goal is to form a competitive girls’ team for players aged 12–13 — giving young women the same chance to play, connect, and thrive.
Through Cars for Good, easyauto123 has proudly donated $1000 to help make that happen. The funds will go toward:
To celebrate the partnership, Eddie and the Hobart United crew are planning a friendly match with the easyauto123 Hobart team — a day of fun, teamwork, and community spirit.
Because at Hobart United, football isn’t just a game. It’s a way to bring people together — building confidence, belonging, and a stronger Hobart for all.
Supporting Hobart United means investing in inclusion, empowerment, and the next generation of Tasmanians.
