Creating Brighter Futures
In the Macarthur region, thousands of families rely on Camden and Campbelltown Hospitals for their children’s care. When a child becomes unwell, parents often face long drives and long waits for specialist equipment that isn’t always available locally. Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation exists to change that.
This month, Cars for Good contributed $1,000 to support the Foundation’s work improving children’s health services across Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly. Our team visited their Campbelltown office to present the cheque and hear from CEO Sarah Ryan and the volunteers who keep it running.
Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation was founded 25 years ago by doctors, nurses and community leaders who wanted better outcomes for local children. Their mission is simple: ensure kids in Macarthur have access to the care and equipment they need, without leaving the region.
The Foundation raises funds to purchase paediatric medical equipment for hospitals, community health centres and local family clinics. All equipment is additional to government funding, meaning it exists only through community support.
Each item is chosen for its impact, helping units such as birthing, maternity, special care nursery, paediatric emergency, adolescent mental health, children’s allied health and community health centres.
“We often get overlooked, so this means so much to us.”
During our visit, Sarah, CEO, highlighted the importance of local support.
“Although we are part of the hospital, we often get overlooked when it comes to donations. This support means so much to us.”
Her team shared how even small contributions create real change by keeping vital equipment close to home and helping families stay together.
The $1,000 contribution will help Kids of Macarthur:
These improvements make a direct difference for children aged 0 to 18 and their families.
Kids of Macarthur is built on generosity, volunteer effort and a community that believes every child deserves the best start. Cars for Good is proud to support their mission and help strengthen children’s health care throughout Macarthur.
