A Community Built on Care

North Shore Hospital Auxiliary

Smiles all round as the easyauto123 North Harbour team presents a $1,000 Cars for Good donation to the North Shore Hospital Auxiliary.

North Shore Hospital is a place thousands of families rely on every year, from the joy of welcoming a newborn to the uncertainty that comes with illness, recovery and care. In moments like these, comfort, dignity and human connection matter just as much as clinical excellence.

The North Shore Hospital Auxiliary exists to support those moments, quietly funding essential equipment, services and initiatives that make the hospital experience warmer and more humane for patients, families and staff.

This month, through Cars for Good, the easyauto123 North Harbour team proudly donated $1,000 to support the Auxiliary’s ongoing work across the hospital.

Supporting Care Beyond the Bedside

The North Shore Hospital Auxiliary plays a vital role in supporting the hospital in ways that sit alongside medical care. Their focus is on practical support, funding equipment and services that enhance comfort, dignity and wellbeing throughout the hospital.

Made possible through volunteers and community generosity, this support complements government funding and helps ensure patients and families feel supported during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

One of the most touching examples of this care is the dedication of volunteers who knit blankets for newborn babies. These blankets offer more than warmth. They provide reassurance, care and comfort to families during an incredibly special and emotional time. It is a simple gesture that often stays with families long after they leave the hospital.

It is this attention to the human details that defines the Auxiliary’s contribution to the community.

Recognition, Support and What It Makes Possible

During the visit, the donation cheque was personally handed over by Sir Michael Jones, adding warmth and meaning to the moment.

The handover was not about ceremony. It was about recognising the people behind the work, volunteers who give their time and care without expectation, and an organisation that has supported the hospital for generations.

The $1,000 Cars for Good contribution will help the North Shore Hospital Auxiliary to:

  • fund essential equipment that supports patient comfort and care
  • support services and initiatives that enhance the hospital experience
  • enable volunteer-led programs, including knitted blankets for newborn babies
  • provide warmth, reassurance and practical support to patients and families

These contributions may happen quietly, but they help make the hospital a more caring and supportive place for everyone who walks through its doors.

A Local Organisation Making a Local Impact

The North Shore Hospital Auxiliary is built on generosity, volunteer effort and a deep commitment to community care. For decades, they have supported patients, families and staff through thoughtful, practical action that makes a real difference.

Cars for Good is proud to support their work and to stand alongside an organisation that continues to care for its community, one small act at a time.
