Nurturing Families – A Lifeline for Parents in Need

Across New Zealand, families are feeling the strain. Rising costs and shrinking support have made life even harder for those already doing it tough. But in West Auckland, one organisation continues to wrap its arms around those who need it most — Nurturing Families.

Born from a simple act of kindness, Nurturing Families provides clothing, food, and baby gear to parents and caregivers in crisis. But it’s the emotional and educational support that truly sets them apart — helping families feel seen, supported, and ready to rebuild.

Keeping Families Safe

This year has tested many — and Nurturing Families has seen more parents arriving at their doorstep in need of urgent help. Some are new mums leaving hospital with their baby but without a safe way to bring them home.

That’s where our Cars for Good initiative stepped in.

Through a $1,000 donation, we’re helping Nurturing Families purchase new baby capsules — life-saving essentials that give newborns a safe start. The funding also supports their partnerships with Family Success Matters and Plunket NZ, ensuring families receive the right care at the right time.

Standing Together

What makes Nurturing Families special is the way they bring people together to create a true village of support. Every Crisis Pack, every conversation, and every smile in their Henderson Community Hub is a reminder that help doesn’t have to be big to make a difference.
